Solutions
Hearing assessments tailored to a child’s stage of development: AURITEC combines audiometry systems, child-friendly testing methods and visual conditioning to create a comprehensive solution for assessing children’s hearing.
SOLUTIONS · Paediatric audiometry
Audiological examinations in young children are among the greatest challenges in diagnostics. AURITEC took on this challenge decades ago and, in consultation with specialists, developed a range of tools. The paediatric audiometry systemsare unique and have become the benchmark for many experts beyond Germany’s borders.
With the AT2000 and AT800, suitable testing procedures, as well as LookyBox and VRA Viewer, the workstation can be tailored to different examination tasks. Together, we will select the equipment best suited to your patient groups and workflows.

Are you setting up a paediatric audiometry service, or would you like to include additional age groups and procedures? We can advise you on audiometers, test materials, visual conditioning and operation – tailored to your examination procedures.
The procedure depends on the child’s stage of development and the aim of the assessment. In younger children, responses to auditory stimuli can be supported by visual conditioning. Once the child’s understanding of the tasks and level of cooperation are sufficient, appropriate auditory and speech tests are introduced. The solutions shown here support assessments in which the child’s response is observed or actively reported.
A response to an auditory stimulus is rewarded with a visual stimulus. LookyBox and VRA Viewer provide moving soft toys, images and videos for this purpose. This can help to maintain the patient’s attention and cooperation during the examination.
As well as age, language skills, developmental stage and task comprehension are also taken into account. MATCH uses visual cues, whilst OLKISA and SIMAT use short sequences of words. AAST is available in various languages. mFAST uses animal sounds for hearing screening and does not assess speech comprehension.
This depends on the audiometer, the software and the equipment available. Suitable test procedures, transducers and options for visual conditioning need to be assessed. The seating position and controls should also be appropriate for the child and the examination procedure. We will discuss the necessary additions with you.
